Health Bank One
A comprehensive redesign of Health Bank One's original app, aiming to increase user engagement and retention.
Overview

Health Bank One is a next-generation digital health platform that empowers patients by providing full control over their health data. Users can consolidate both electronic and hard copy medical records into a single, secure, mobile-accessible account.
The overarching goal of this project was to increase user engagement with Health Bank One by enhancing the app’s features and design.
The target audience we were told to design for were proactive, health-
conscious women between the ages of 40-65.
We aimed to create compelling, user-centered experiences that showcase clear and recurring value to justify continued membership.

Takeaway
The app must be efficient, non-intrusive, and provide real utility for users to want to engage with it on a daily basis.
The Problem
Medical record management can get difficult when trying to jump between different providers that use patient portals which lack compatibility for record consolidation. There is also the additional hurdle of computer and health literacy for certain demographics, specifically older individuals who may have trouble navigating a convoluted app.
How can we develop an app that helps users to easily stay on top of their health and medical records while also managing to make it simple and accessible?
Problem Statement
When health-conscious women ages 40-65 have trouble staying on top of their health and medical records, they want a simple, comprehensive, and easy to navigate tool that they can use to stay organized and track their health.
The Process
Evolution of Design

This is the evolution of the Health & Wellness page's design. The screen evolved as we wanted to reduce visual clutter and create an overview that wouldn't be too overwhelming to look at. Ultimately, we wanted to reduce visual clutter and present the most relevant information to users on all pages.
Why Redesign the Existing Brand?

-
The large "Bank" at the bottom may be confusing for older people, or could make it harder for them to find the app on their phone if they forget the name, etc.
-
Doesn't really evoke feelings of health or wellness. It could also remind viewers of a power bank since the plus sign on a circle is similar to something signifying power or a watch battery.
-
Corporate blue adds to the lack of warmth and compassion that a health and wellness/medical app should have.

-
Leaves and the use of green suggest a sense of organic health that goes hand in hand with the lifestyles of those who prioritize wellness (healthy eating, yoga, hiking, etc.)
-
Negative space between the leaves forms a cross (links to the Health Bank One/All Clear ID ecosystem.)

Brand Identity

-
For the color palette, we chose warm greens to evoke feelings of growth, health, and wellness. To compliment this, we chose some shades of blue to create a sense of serenity, reliability, and trustworthiness
-
For the typefaces, we chose Josefin Sans for its friendly roundness. We chose Lato since it was a clean, no-frills typeface that would be clear and legible
-
This is the mascot that I designed for the Care Guide in order to create a more friendly icon for users to interact with

-
I customized these icons to be rounder and match the app better, and to be more welcoming without sharp edges

I created some mockups to showcase how Health Bank One could use this updated branding to promote health and wellness products as well as advertise their services
